Reminder to our Spring 2011 cabbage growers!
Please submit your cabbage growing story (approximately 50 words of your experience) and photo of your fully grown cabbage. You can email your story and photo to bonnieplants@fernlea.com, to our Cabbage Program Director - Stephanie Santos.
What is the Cabbage Program?
Early each Spring, Bonnie Plants will distribute free cabbage plants to 3rd graders across Ontario to foster an interest in gardening and the environment.
Cabbages will be delivered in early Spring 2012 to students whose teachers have signed up to participate. Students in these 3rd grade classrooms each get their very own cabbage to plant, take care of and harvest.

These cabbages produce oversized heads, making the process even more exciting for kids.
As part of the Program, Bonnie will give ten (10) $200 scholarship awards to ten (10) students in Ontario, plus 3 classes will have a chance to win 1 of 3 FREE class trips to Long Point Eco Adventure Centre. Through the Bonnie Plants 3rd Grade Cabbage Program, we hope to share our love of gardening, as well as inspire kids to develop an interest in nature and the outdoors.
Early in the new year 2012, we will contact schools that have registered for our program. At that time we will provide details about our scholarship awards, class trips and information about cabbage plant delivery to your school. There will be a $20 delivery fee per school for the delivery of the cabbages.
